This the recommended transportation solution for those planning to drink. Please review the Historic Train Ride section below for an exciting arrival alternative.
There is ample parking at the Oaks Park Amusement Park. Parking is NOT FREE and a daily permit may be purchased at a kiosk for $4/day.
Yes, get sweaty for us. Oaks Park is adjacent to the Springwater Corridor Trail. Bike racks are available near the Roller Rink.
The nearest bus stop is approximately a one-mile walk from the park. We do not recommend.
Go By Train (tentative)
HOWEVER, we are arranging with the Oregon Rail Heritage Center (OHRC) to provide transportation from their location in SE Portland (near the Max Light Rail Stop for OMSI and SE Water transit hub, just east of the Tilikum Crossing).
The OMSI/ SE Water transit hub is served by:
The Orange Max Line (Milwaukie, Portland State University, Downtown)
The Streetcar (Portland State University, Downtown, Inner SE)
Busses!
9 - Powell/Downtown
FX2 - Division/Gresham
17 - Holgate/Downtown/North Portland
19 - Woodstock/Downtown
NOTE: There will only be ONE TRAIN from OHRC to Oaks Park and it will be for ARRIVAL ONLY. Carpooling or taxi/ride-hailing will be needed for returning home or getting to your public transit hub.
This Train Option is still TBD, so please wait for confirmation on this website or from Tim, himself, if the train options will be available.
There are no hotels near Oaks Park or in nearby neighborhoods. We recommend that guests traveling from out of town consider renting a house. Short-term rentals in Sellwood, Westmoreland, Eastmoreland, and inner Southeast Portland are the most convenient and will give you easy access to the venue, restaurants, and the riverfront.
If you’re open to sharing a rental with other guests, please make a note in your RSVP. We’re happy to help connect folks who would like to coordinate lodging—it could make for a fun, extended weekend together.
If you would like to stay in a hotel, there are several great options. My favorites are:
The Hoxton (downtown)
Hotel Grand Stark (inner SE)
Jupiter NEXT (inner SE)
Portland Marriott (downtown)
Hilton's River Edge (South Waterfront)
Motel 6 (Powell)
